Tupac Amaru Shakur, also known by his stage names 2Pac, Makaveli and briefly as Pac, was an American rapper, songwriter, actor, and political activist. He is considered by many to be one of the most influential rappers of all time.

Early Life

Tupac was born in Harlem, New York on June 16, 1971, to Afeni Shakur and Billy Garland. His mother was a member of the Black Panther Party, and his father was a member of the Rolling Stones gang. Tupac's parents separated when he was young, and he was raised by his mother in various locations around the United States.

As a child, Tupac was exposed to a variety of music, including soul, funk, and hip-hop. He began rapping and writing poetry at a young age, and he developed a reputation as a talented performer. In 1988, Tupac moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he attended the Baltimore School for the Arts. He later moved to Marin City, California, where he attended Tamalpais High School.

Music Career

Tupac's music career began in earnest in 1991, when he released his debut album, 2Pacalypse Now. The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish Tupac as one of the most promising rappers in the industry. In 1993, Tupac released his second album, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z., which was even more successful than his debut. The album featured the hit singles "I Get Around" and "Keep Ya Head Up", and it helped to cement Tupac's status as a hip-hop icon.

In 1994, Tupac released his third album, Me Against the World. The album was recorded while Tupac was in prison on a sexual assault charge, and it dealt with themes of violence, poverty, and racism. The album was a critical and commercial success, and it is considered by many to be Tupac's best work.

After his release from prison, Tupac signed with Death Row Records, Suge Knight's record label. In 1996, Tupac released his fourth album, All Eyez on Me. The album was a huge commercial success, and it featured the hit singles "California Love" and "Changes". The album helped to make Tupac one of the most popular rappers in the world.

Death

Tupac was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 7, 1996. He was just 25 years old. The murder remains unsolved, and there are many conspiracy theories surrounding it.

Legacy

Tupac is considered by many to be one of the greatest rappers of all time. His music has sold over 75 million records worldwide, and he has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Tupac's music continues to be popular today, and he is still considered to be one of the most influential rappers of all time.
