Lincoln was assassinated in 1865 by a Confederate sympathizer. He is remembered as one of the greatest presidents in American history. His leadership during the Civil War saved the Union and freed the slaves. He is also remembered for his Gettysburg Address, one of the most famous speeches in American history.

2. Franklin D. Roosevelt

Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, led the nation through the Great Depression and World War II.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was born in Hyde Park, New York in 1882. He was the son of a wealthy family, and he received a privileged education. He graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. In 1910, he was elected to the New York State Senate. He served in the Senate for six years, and then was elected Governor of New York in 1928.

In 1932, Roosevelt was elected President of the United States. The country was in the midst of the Great Depression, and Roosevelt promised to lead the nation out of the crisis. He implemented a series of programs known as the New Deal, which helped to create jobs and stimulate the economy. The New Deal was successful in helping to end the Great Depression.

In 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, and the United States entered World War II. Roosevelt led the nation's war effort, and he also played a key role in the formation of the United Nations. He died in office in 1945, just weeks before the end of the war.

Roosevelt is remembered as one of the greatest presidents in American history. His leadership during the Great Depression and World War II helped to save the nation. He is also remembered for his social welfare programs, which helped to create a fairer and more just society.

3. Ronald Reagan

Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, is credited with ending the Cold War.
